5 Places I Want to Visit in My US Travel Bucket List

The US is a very diverse and large country that offers a variety of travel experiences for different kinds of travelers. Whether you are interested in nature, culture, history, or entertainment, you can find something to suit your preferences in the US. Even before we decided to move here a few years back I had a couple of places in my mind that I wanted to visit. Ever since I moved here the list got bigger (blame my friends on Facebook and recently, Instagram), and maybe a few years later it might get even bigger, but for now, these are the places I want to visit the most while I'm in the US. These destinations are also some of the most popular travel destinations in the US, for a reason:

NEW YORK CITY

The city that never sleeps is a global hub for art, fashion, music, and food. I want to explore its iconic landmarks, such as the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and Times Square, or discover its vibrant neighborhoods, such as Manhattan, Brooklyn, Harlem, and Chinatown. I'm most looking forward to Times Square, and Manhattan. And also I would be visiting some of my friends who live there.

SAN FRANCISCO

The city by the bay is known for its counter-culture, diversity, and innovation. The stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and the Pacific Ocean are some of the attractions. There are also Chinatown, Mission District, and Fisherman’s Wharf which are famous among tourists. I want to visit the Golden Gate Bridge and the iconic row houses you can look at from the top. I blame this on the TV Show Full House which I used to watch as a kid. And of course, a LOT of my friends live here, in and around Silicon Valley mostly, so I would be spending some time with them.

HAWAII

Hawaii is a wonderful travel destination for many reasons. It is a paradise for nature lovers, culture seekers, and adventure enthusiasts. The Hawaiian Islands offer a diverse range of experiences, from the vibrant urban life of Oahu to the tranquil romance of Maui and the off-the-beaten-path charm of Lanai and Molokai. I am looking forward to exploring the stunning landscapes of volcanoes, canyons, waterfalls, and beaches, and immersing myself in the rich Hawaiian culture, arts, and history. I was recommended Maui, and Oahu by some friends who have already been here. I am also looking forward to the food which I heard is amazing.

GRAND CANYON

Grand Canyon is a spectacular natural wonder that attracts millions of visitors every year. It is one of the most famous landmarks in the US and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is a good place to visit if you enjoy scenic views, outdoor activities, and cultural experiences. I'm most interested in the Antelope Canyon tours. Upper Antelope and Lower Antelope are both amazing slot canyons in Arizona. The best and most booked tours here are during the midday hours because the light beams are most visible during the afternoon. This makes for some stunning views.

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK

This park is a good place to visit if you love nature, wildlife, and geothermal wonders. It is the first national park in the world and covers over 2 million acres of land in three states: Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Based on my research I am most looking forward to the following:

- Old Faithful: The most famous geyser in the park, which erupts every 90 minutes on average, shooting water and steam up to 180 feet in the air.

- Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone: A stunning gorge carved by the Yellowstone River, with colorful walls and dramatic waterfalls, such as the Lower Falls and the Upper Falls.

- Grand Prismatic Spring: The largest hot spring in the US and the third-largest in the world, with a vivid rainbow of colors caused by bacteria and minerals in the water.

- Lamar Valley: A prime spot for wildlife viewing, where you can see bison, elk, wolves, bears, and other animals roaming freely in their natural habitat.

April 2012 Favorites and Regrets

I can't believe April has already come to an end. I can't say I'm sorry either because this means less rain, more blossoms, and summer in another month. So without further ado, I present to you this month's beauty and makeup favorites. For those I've reviewed I have linked them to the blog post. For the rest of them, I left short reviews of why I did or didn't like them. As you can see there are quite a few things I've been liking this month. The list of all things beauty I've been loving/using frequently are: (in left to right order) Aussie Instant Freeze Hair Spray Extreme Hold: This product is just wow. The windy city can be brutal to hair and this product is really a blessing. It's easy to use and smells great. It's not too expensive and comes in a huge bottle. Clairol Herbal Essences Hydralicious Reconditioning Conditioner Jergens Shea Butter Deep Conditioning Moisturizer: I first got introduced to this lotion when I was in India and

Top 12 Things to Buy from Kruidvat own Brand

We've been seeing inflation here in the Netherlands since October last year. It's just plain ridiculous to see something that I paid 5 euros for a few months back is now around 7 euros or maybe more. That doesn't sound like a lot but when you buy about 50 things (food, groceries, toiletries, etc.) for your house, it all adds up and overall you are paying 50 to 100 euros more than what you were paying previously. But unfortunately, not a lot of us have seen this increase in our pay and many people have even lost jobs during and after the covid crisis. So it's only natural for us to want to save our money wherever we can. But that said we also do not want to compromise on quality. And that is where the idea for this post comes from. Kruidvat is a drugstore that is similar to CVS/Walgreens in the US. Products sold here are mostly hygiene products, cleaning supplies, makeup, and over-the-counter medicines. I have been shopping here for hygiene products for years. By now I

Some Recent Regret Buys

In my opinion, it's not ethical blogging if we're only featuring the good and not talking about some bad products because let's face it, there are a lot of crappy products out there. And when we're not talking about them we're withholding important information and we're not being fair to our readers. In fact, it means we're being fairer to brands. It's fine if people want to earn some money through brand deals but it's really not worth it to become a sell-out. Some might say why to bother writing about bad products, why not just let them be, but I want to put the word out there about bad products too because I want to help people like me save some money. Please note that when I say "bad products" it means "products that have not worked for me". However, these products might have worked very well for some others because each of us has different skin types and tolerance for products and it's totally OK. In the past few months,
